I’m an artist living and working in the great port city of Southampton
I paint in oils and occasionally pastels. I often use a limited colour palette and work in a clear, bold style with brush and palette knife. My work embraces a range of subjects, from portraits and animal studies to landscapes and studies of flowers and dancers.
While my work is broadly representational many pieces veer to a greater or lesser extent towards abstraction: I take particular delight in finding and displaying the beauty to be found in industrial landscapes and construction sites; the grace and power of the dockside cranes in my home town of Southampton, and the pleasing anomaly of industrial buildings in natural surroundings.
My Captain is Picard, my Doctor is Tom Baker and my theme is Stargate.
